Developer Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are back with the first update of the year for The Sims, outlining what the team is working on and the values that have shaped the game series, which remain unchanged.

At its core, The Sims was built on a deep, single-player life simulation, and these experiences will always be a part of the future. Meanwhile, Project Rene has evolved into a social, collaborative, mobile-first life-sim game, focusing on multiplayer. It introduces a new way to explore and play together for those who want to connect with others directly.
The Coach Collection, featuring nine new items, drops for free in The Sims 4 on January 13, 2026. Here’s what’s available to everyone in the base game:
