The Open Beta for free to play fantasy MMORPG Throne & Liberty goes live today, giving players the opportunity to try out some of the major features of the upcoming battle for supremacy. Leaping in is easy. Head over to the Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox Store and download the Open Beta Test Build. You’ll need just over 50GB of space just to get started, but with an entire realm packed in there, there should be plenty to do. Between now and 23 July, eager warriors and pliable cannon fodder can grab their weapon of choice, create a character, and spend five days investigating some of the content below and find out if this new release is worth bringing their guild along for.

Prove that Keyboard and Mouse is Best!

Throne & Liberty unlocks cross platform play ion the latest test period. Friends and enemies can link up, join groups, form guilds, or go head-to-head across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This functionality isn’t just a test. It will go live with launch, meaning those rivalries can continue into the far-flung future.

Face Your Enemy Across The Battlefield

Take down ever so confident PC players across massive Conquest encounters. The battles pit two guilds against each other. The victor can lay claim to territory, buffs, and other bonuses as their prize. If you’ve played Aion, this sound a lot like developer NCSoft’s established playbook for siege warfare and should make for lots of interesting political rivalry in the huge battles that are to come.

This isn’t the only place you’ll be able to take down your enemy either. Throne & Liberty features several kinds of large-scale activities, with some events allowing thousands of players to engage in battle together at one time. Field events throw three teams against each other in a huge space full of hostile enemies, while a focus on PvPvE encounters means that anybody who survive the Dredgion back in the day might feel at home.

LOOT!

Get of out the PvP competition and head into a wide range of 6-player PvE dungeons with fun and challenging mechanics that demand skilful coordination from your party for success. Look out for plenty of loot that will help you level up your character and better defeat that other guild.

Channel Your Inner Animal

Forget mounts. Players in Amazon’s big world brawl can channel their energy and turn into the mount they always wanted to be. The world of Solisium features a variety of different biomes, and players can navigate these by transforming into a range of creatures. glide, swim, or run for a faster travel experience that allows you to reach unique areas of the ma. Alternatively, use the transformations in combat to slither out of range or utilize unique combat mechanics. Anything to reduce your hit box. At least, that’s what we hope.

Look Good Doing It

Beta participants will also get their first taste of Throne & Liberty customization options, including a deep array of character presets not only for entire characters. Once again, we’ll look back at developer NCSoft’s lineage of titles. Blade & Soul, Aion, and a range of other big budget MMORPGs all came with a wild array of sliders and section choices. IF that’s anything to go by, expect tons of skins and unique color schemes for each character, and different style and patterns to their base armor sets. With a class free system where you wield a weapon fit for each role, you’ll be able to pick the pointy thing that suits your look beast too.

The Open Beta test for throng& Liberty is the first chance we will all get to try out an MMO that’s seen some significant delays. After initially swirling around in development hell and facing some early criticism, we are expecting to see a massively updated movement and combat system to fight off modern competitors. Who knows, it might even allow Amazon to get Blue Protocol to market soon too.
