The classic arcade shooter Time Crisis is turning 30 this year, and the celebration is taking the form of a global competition. Accessory maker G‘AIM’E has announced the G‘AIM’E World Championship 2026, an online tournament inviting players around the world to compete for the fastest clear times in the iconic light-gun shooter. The event is being held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the long-running arcade franchise originally created by Bandai Namco.
The competition begins March 14, 2026 (Japan time) and runs through April 12, giving players roughly a month to submit their best runs. Participants will compete for prizes, including $500 Amazon gift cards, as well as traditional gold, silver, and bronze medals for top finishers.

To make the event accessible to players of different skill levels, the tournament is split into two categories. The ENJOY League focuses on clearing the first stage of Time Crisis as quickly as possible, with players submitting a photo of their result using the hashtag #GWC2026E. The more competitive ATHLETE League requires players to complete all three stages and submit a full video of their run using #GWC2026A.
Entries must be posted on social media platforms such as X or Instagram and include the participant’s country flag, account name, and their G‘AIM’E Lightgun setup. Players are allowed to compete in both categories simultaneously if they want to try for the top spot in each leaderboard.
The event is centered around the company’s officially licensed Time Crisis light-gun setup, though players who don’t own the hardware can still take part by using demo units at participating retail locations where available. Organizers say players can also engage with the competition through social media activities for additional chances to win prizes.
Originally released in arcades in 1995, Time Crisis became one of the most recognizable light-gun shooters of the era thanks to its cover system, cinematic presentation, and fast-paced gameplay. The franchise later expanded to multiple sequels and home console adaptations, cementing its place among the most beloved arcade shooters of the 1990s.
Full rules and entry details for the G‘AIM’E World Championship 2026 are available through the official event page, with submissions opening globally as the competition kicks off in mid-March.
