TripWire Interactive has announced that their survival horror game Killing Floor: Incursion will be releasing on PlaystationVR today (May 1st). The developer takes the genre to new depths of madness with a fully-realized adventure, tailor-made for virtual reality.
In the game, you step into the boots of a soldier of the Horizon Security Force. It is your job to unlock the mysteries of the Zed hordes and to put as many of them as you can to rest. This adventure will take you into different locations, such as a dilapidated farmhouse to a state-of-the-art high-tech facility. Each environment is fully explorable with a plethora of weapons to choose from – including axes, pistols, shotguns, and severed limbs.
The Killing Floor: Incursion experience can be played as a solo adventure or cooperatively with a friend. PlaystationVR owners will also get a first look at “The Crucible” – a Holdout mode exclusive to the system which has players survive against wave after wave of enemy Zed. Alongside this release, players can anticipate the release of a Hardcore difficulty mode as well as a the addition of a Katana to the arsenal and score leaderboards.
Since the series’ original release in 2009, Killing Floor has sold over five million units through Steam with Killing Floor 2 performing as one of the top populated games on all major platforms.
