If you’ve been waiting for your favorite franchise to join the UniVersus card game, 2027 might finally be your year. UVS Games has unveiled its roadmap for the upcoming year, and it’s one of the biggest content lineups the collectible card game has announced, bringing together Warhammer 40,000, Persona 5 Royal, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Invincible, Hellboy, and a return to the world of Critical Role.
Rather than focusing on a single tentpole release, UVS is casting a wide net across anime, comics, tabletop gaming, and video games. The strategy continues UniVersus’ long-running approach of blending popular franchises into a single competitive card game, giving fans plenty of reasons to expand their collections regardless of where their fandom lies.
Leading the 2027 roadmap is Warhammer 40,000, which joins UniVersus as part of Games Workshop’s 40th anniversary celebration. The crossover will include a Booster Set, a two-player Starter Deck, and additional products, bringing the grim darkness of the far future into the game’s expanding roster.
Anime fans also have several major additions to look forward to. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will receive Challenger Series decks based on both Golden Wind and Stone Ocean, while Persona 5 Royal makes its UniVersus debut through two Challenger Series releases centered on Atlus’ beloved RPG.
Critical Role is also returning to the game with a Booster Set featuring Bells Hells, the adventuring party from Campaign 3. Meanwhile, comic book fans can expect Challenger Series products based on Mike Mignola’s Hellboy universe, along with a full Booster Set inspired by Robert Kirkman’s Invincible.
While UVS stopped short of revealing release dates or card previews, the company says more information will be shared throughout 2027, including product details, gameplay reveals, and additional announcements.
The roadmap represents one of the strongest collections of licensed properties UniVersus has assembled in a single year. For longtime players, it offers a steady stream of new mechanics and characters to build around. For newcomers, recognizable franchises like Persona 5 Royal, Warhammer 40,000, and Invincible could provide the perfect excuse to finally learn the game. With support spanning tabletop RPGs, anime, comics, and video games, UniVersus continues to position itself as one of the most crossover-friendly collectible card games on the market.
