Tiny Roar studio and Megabit Publishing have announced a post-apocalyptic adventure, Verdant. There, nature took over the world, turning cities into dangerous jungles and forest ruins. The developers promise a story about grows and maturing, with the tint of nostalgia and tough moral choices. What is more important – survival or nature prosperity? The players have to find their own answer.
Verdant tells a story of a young man, Sprout, as he travels though the green post-apocalyptic world. For survival, he’ll have to learn how to build camps, upgrade gears and explore the dangerous environments. Through his journey, Sprout can learn the truth behind humanity downfall and uncover the truth behind the strange powers of nature.
In Verdant, players will be able to use unique powers that allow them to manipulate life essence, bringing choices to either absorb energy from nature for survival or use it to heal the nature. The game’s environments are inspired by the 80s aesthetics and culture, mixed with mutated flora and fauna, so it might be a harder choice than you imagine.
But the danger is constant, and sometimes you have to act in the way that you couldn’t foresee, all to survive. Don’t forget to take care of your needs – hydration, nutrition, hunger and fatigue have tangible consequences, from alerting enemies to affecting the perception
