Guild Wars 2 is kicking off its next chapter with the first quarterly update for its Visions of Eternity expansion, and it’s a substantial one. ArenaNet is clearly using the ‘Raid & Wardrobe Update’ to reinforce endgame structure while layering in long-requested quality-of-life features, all while setting the stage for more content throughout the year.
The headline addition is Guardian’s Glade, a brand-new raid that expands Guild Wars 2’s high-end PvE offerings. Designed to challenge veteran groups without alienating newer raiders, Guardian’s Glade leans into mechanical clarity and environmental pressure, rewarding coordination and adaptability. ArenaNet is also building upon the success of the Fractals of the Mist Quickplay system by introducing a Quickplay mode for raids. This makes it easier for players to jump into organized content without the usual friction of group assembly.
Alongside that is a broader raid system revamp. ArenaNet has streamlined how raids are accessed and presented, improving onboarding and making progression feel more coherent. For a game that’s often been praised for its open-world content but critiqued for endgame accessibility, this update feels like a deliberate recalibration.
On the rewards side, the update introduces Endless Summer, a new legendary ring that continues the game’s tradition of long-term prestige gear. As expected, it offers full stat customization and visual flair, giving dedicated players another meaningful progression goal to chase. Additional legendary gear is planned for later in the Visions of Eternity cycle, reinforcing that this expansion is being built with longevity in mind.
Fashion also gets a significant upgrade with the addition of Fashion Templates. Players can now save and swap between different cosmetic setups, finally separating style experimentation from gear management. For a community where fashion truly is endgame, this is a quietly impactful addition.
The Wizard’s Vault has also been refreshed with new rewards, giving players more reasons to engage with daily and seasonal objectives. Combined with the return of the Lunar New Year festival, the update balances serious endgame additions with lighter seasonal content, ensuring there’s something to do regardless of playstyle.
Importantly, this update is only the beginning. ArenaNet has confirmed that new story chapters, QoL improvements, additional legendary gear, new explorable maps, and more instanced content will roll out later in the year as part of Visions of Eternity’s quarterly cadence.
The Visions of Eternity expansion is available on the Guild Wars 2 website and Steam for $24.99, and if this opening update is any indication, ArenaNet is aiming for a strong, steady year ahead rather than a single splashy drop.
