War On Wheels Brings Vehicular Combat to a Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland

Coming from developer Psychic Software, War on Wheels is a tactical simultaneous turn-based, physics controlled game that aims to bring physics-driven car combat to a post-apocalyptic world. The game is built on the foundation of Darkwind, a vehicular combat MMO that had been active since 2006.

Set around the year 2100, seventy-five years after a solar catastrophe devastated Earth, players command a privateer company navigating the chaotic politics of the Badlands warzone.

Control multiple vehicles, issue simultaneous orders while accounting for wheeled-vehicle momentum and terrain. Your victory depends on the keen understanding of tyres, acceleration, surface types, cover, weapon recoil, and the armor layout of each vehicle.

War On Wheels – Key Features Include:

  • Vehicles: numerous chassis types combined with many engine types, tire types and weapon types.
  • Weapons: the combat system involves a range of vehicle-mounted and personal weapons: guns, rockets, melee rams, smokescreens, dropped mines and tire-shredding spikes.
  • Characters have a range of skills and abilities, including leadership and courage – which feed into a detailed in-combat psychology and morale system.
  • Post-apocalyptic game setting.
  • Single-player Campaign: Place of Honor. Lead your company across a ruined continent, take contracts, loot enemy hardware, and navigate the politics of the wasteland.
  • Online Deathracing Leagues: compete in multiplayer combat and organise clan-run leagues for long-term challenges.
