War Thunder, the free to play vehicle combat sim, is now available across iOS and Android storefronts.
Fancy jumping in an M1 Abrahms as you make the morning commute? Now you can. Players who were previously tied to their big screen consoles can now get into War Thunder on mobiles. Ok, it’s not going to cut through the morning traffic, but it might make the bus journey a little more bearable as all the action of War Thunder becomes instantly accessible.
Anybody with an iOS or Android device who wants to get in on the action can try out hundreds of historically accurate grounds, naval and air war machines that have been carefully modelled in line with properly declassified documents. Of course, you’ll be able to take aim and cause other historically accurate vehicles to explode too.
Over the past six months, War Thunder Mobile has gone through several stages of alpha and beta testing, during which it has been polished, optimized and improved: for example, a HUD editor, a convenient teammate search interface, and customization of vehicles have been added. This does indicate that you can’t expect cross play from the console and mobile versions, but do expect some awesome action, and freebies. Anybody who logs into War Thunder Mobile before August 29th will receive the American destroyer USS Nicholas and a platoon of French armored vehicles in unique camouflages as a gift.
Big armor and bigger explosions across a range of challenges and terrain can now be found on the War Thunder Mobile website.
