Digital Extremes is closing out the year in full sprint, announcing that The Old Peace, Warframe’s next major narrative chapter, will launch on December 10 as a free update on all platforms. During the November Devstream, the studio pulled back the curtain on new game modes, a new Warframe, the Android closed beta, next year’s TennoCon, and even teased something big waiting in the wings for The Game Awards.
For a game that’s been running for more than a decade, Digital Extremes seems determined to keep things fresh. Community Director Megan Everett described The Old Peace as part of a broader effort to evolve the experience. The team has built two new modes, the Descendia and The Perita Rebellion, from the ground up, while expanding Focus Schools with new Tauron Strike abilities that lean hard into cinematic spectacle.
The headliner this round is The Perita Rebellion, a new survival-style mission set during a pivotal war on the Tau Moon. Players survive for 12 minutes while taking on challenges that grant temporary upgrades, including the chance to unleash devastating Tauron Strikes tied to their chosen Focus School. The mode culminates in one of three boss fights, each carrying exclusive rewards. It also debuts a new enemy faction, the Anarchs, whose mini-boss roster includes corrupted Dax, Grineer, and even stolen Prime Warframes.
Tauron Strikes themselves are shaping up to be the flashiest addition to the Focus system since its introduction. Each Strike acts as a massive, screen-scorching Ultimate, powered by new unlock nodes and resources found in The Perita Rebellion. With the final three strikes revealed during the Devstream, players have a full set of five to pursue, one for each Focus School.
The 63rd Warframe also steps into the arena. Uriel, formerly the protoframe Roathe, rises as a demon-infused commander wielding brimstone attacks and three fiendish summons. The Heretic of Xata can be earned through the Descendia mode or purchased directly. Uriel arrives alongside a new weapon class, Bayonets, plus Gyre Prime and a Voruna deluxe bundle to round out the Arsenal.
December also brings Operation: Blood of Perita, a time-limited event running from December 16 to January 6. Players who finish The Old Peace can collect Marks of Valiance across alerts and Perita missions to trade for exclusive cosmetics and titles.
Digital Extremes also confirmed TennoCon will return July 10–11, 2026, in London, Ontario, complete with a reimagined TennoConcert. Tickets go on sale February 27, with VIP and Legendary tiers offering everything from lounge seating to a 1-on-1 dev Q&A and even an in-game voice recording session.
Mobile players finally get their moment, too. Warframe’s Android closed beta begins today, with opt-in available now. It marks the next step in expanding the game across platforms, following last year’s iOS launch.
And as for what comes next, the studio closed the show with a wink toward The Game Awards. Digital Extremes will debut a new trailer during the ceremony, hinting that The Old Peace may only be the opening act for Warframe’s next evolutionary leap.
