Warframe’s Next Chapter Gets Anime Reveal Trailer With ERRA Soundtrack

After more than a decade of updates, Warframe is still finding new ways to announce its story beats, and this latest one might be the most stylish yet. Digital Extremes has teamed up with progressive metalcore band ERRA and animation studio THE LINE to debut an anime-inspired short for Jade Shadows: Constellations, the game’s next major narrative chapter, arriving free this June.

Directed by Louve Sarfati Karnas alongside Creative Director Rebecca Ford, the cinematic feeds on Warframe’s more surreal sci-fi roots. The short centers on a cosmic clash between two rivals, Sirius and Orion, who exist in competing timelines that were never meant to intersect. Naturally, they collide anyway, and the result looks like a full-blown anime boss fight set against the backdrop of the Origin System.

The trailer is backed by ERRA’s track “Crawl Backwards Out of Heaven,” which gives the whole thing a heavier tone than your average Warframe update. It is also a surprisingly personal collaboration. ERRA vocalist JT Cavey noted he has been playing Warframe for over a decade, which probably explains why the crossover feels like a passion project.

Jade Shadows: Constellations continues the storyline introduced in the original Jade Shadows quest, focusing on the Stalker and his child. Depending on player choices, that child can become either Sirius or Orion. This new chapter brings both potential futures into direct conflict. It’s a narrative setup that leans into Warframe’s long-running habit of bending timelines and player agency into something a little messier than a standard good-versus-evil plot.

Outside the cinematic reveal, Digital Extremes shared a handful of gameplay updates during its latest devstream. The new chapter will introduce additional Railjack missions in the Uranus Proxima region, along with two new Protoframes. Ryoku, tied to Ash, emphasizes stealth and discipline, while Vena, linked to Garuda, focuses on raw power and aggression. Players will be able to recruit one of them as a crew member after completing the quest.

There is also a returning clan event, Operation: Belly of the Beast, scheduled to run from May 4 through June 1, alongside updates to Nidus and a new deluxe skin for Dante.
