Developer Owlcat Games announced a new title, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Shake off the mantle of Rogue Trader and embrace the role of an acolyte of the Inquisition, tasked to protect the Imperium. Whether that be from the taint of xenos, the betrayal of heretics, or the scourge of mutants, pursue your duty by any means necessary.
Your service will bring you to the Calixis Sector in the grim dark story-rich experience where every decision has weight, justice is non-existent, and the line between salvation and damnation is razor-thin. Are you ready to bring some light of the Emperor to this lost place? Remember, Acolyte — innocence proves nothing.
While there are currently no details about the game’s release window, developer Owlcat Games shared the first glimpse into Dark Heresy, introducing a group of companions and revealing the game editions. Let’s check them out!
As pointed out by the team, every Inquisitorial warband is unique, and yours is no exception. From the loyal Imperial subjects to nefarious xenos, each of them offers distinctive gameplay, new perspective on the story and fully voiced dialogues:
- Epione Specs is an acolyte of the Inquisition and one of the top medicae specialists in the Tyrantine Cabal. She possesses outstanding intellect and a drive to serve Humanity flawlessly.
- Haymar Devos likewise is a fellow acolyte. He is a member of the illustrious Astra Militarum regiment from the death world of Catachan, and a combat specialist in military operations in the harshest of environments.
- Conscript O-118-B (Cogg) is an Ogryn once assigned to the 27th Scintillan Fusiliers, a regiment of the Astra Militarum. Like any Ogryn, he is incredibly fierce and stoic, and his understanding of orders has been enhanced with a special cranial implant.
- Ra’akhti is a xenos from the Kroot race, an outcast forced to find her way separate from her tribe.
- The last revealed companion is Laarthyr Cairnareth, an Aeldari Corsair and a Way Seeker. The awesome powers under the command of this xenos’s detached mind surpass the abilities of most human psykers.
