Developer Owlcat Games is back with the introduction of a new companion to join your warband in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Meet Saro, the Tainted Believer – the sanctioned psyker, pyromancer, the acolyte of the Inquisition.
Previously the team also revealed several other companions: Laarthyr Cairnareth, Cogg, Ra’akhti, Haymar Devos and Epione Spes.
Sanctioned psykers are individuals who show the ability to wield unnatural psychic powers and are deemed useful enough to undergo the arduous sanctioning process. Their lives are usually short, and their existence is wretched, but their abilities, tempered by sanctioned rituals and an iron will, become a mighty force in the eternal struggle to defend the Imperium.
Of all the various disciplines that a sanctioned psyker may display, one of the most dangerous is pyromancy. Despite the deadly flames he commands, Saro remains one of the oldest surviving psykers of Bastion Serpentis.
The Tyrant Star poses a threat to all living things, but psykers are the most at risk, for to them, its light brings particular madness and strife. Like all psykers, Saro senses its approach, and he is prepared to face these dire times as he has faced every trial of his mind and soul: with a prayer on his lips and fire in his heart.
