Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy Received First Beta Hotfix

By the grace of the Omnissiah, Owlcat’s Tech-Priests have delivered a new hotfix for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy beta. Even Abelard can’t boast such productivity. Note that patch notes include spoilers, check them out at your own risk.

“The sacred calibration contains multiple fixes to improve your experience in the Hive Sibellus and beyond. The full list of patch notes awaits you below. Spoiler alert: your favourite NPC with a crate from Bastion Serpentis still can’t handle the crates properly.”

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy – Beta Hotfix #2 Includes: 

System and stability

  • Optimisation fixes;
  • An attempt to re-equip some stuff might cause “Autosave error” message – fixed;

Narrative

  • Baron’s quest “Sparks in the Dark” didn’t fail if you tried to fight him – fixed;
  • The Echo of Unearthed quest couldn’t be completed if Derkus escaped and saved himself in a battle – fixed;
  • Some rumours in Shadows in the Lucid Palace quest weren’t marked as completed – fixed;

Mechanics

  • The battle with the Baron couldn’t be finished because of the immortal turrets – fixed;
  • During the combat preparation phase, the characters’ position updated every time after opening and closing the inventory or save-loading – fixed;
  • Fixed an issue when Galgorrath the Firebane`s fire zone was moved after save-loading;
  • Some AOE melee attacks were unavailable to use near melee enemies – fixed;
  • Aspyce Chorda sometimes decided to interrupt the battle with the Valkyrie in the Lucid Palace – we asked her not to do it anymore;
  • Fixed an issue when you couldn’t practice in melee in Bastion Serpentis if you had a melee weapon in your left hand;
  • The reinforcement zip-lines in a battle with the Valkyrie in the Lucid Palace couldn’t be damaged in some cases – fixed;
  • Firestorm of Millenia ability didn’t cause any damage to burning targets – fixed;

Visual

  • Blyne the Aide forgot that teleportation is not sanctioned in Bastion Serpentis. When talking to Blyne while he’s escorting you, he might be teleported to the very start of the location – fixed;
  • Your coolest eyebrows will no longer clip through goggles (sorry for fixing it, but we had to);
  • Galgorrath the Firebane daemon

    used single attack animation during AOE attacks – fixed;

  • In some cases, players couldn’t interact with a safe in Governor Hax’s Office in the Lucid Palace – fixed;
  • In some cases, players could get stuck in guard rails of the stairs in Governor Hax’s Office in the Lucid Palace – fixed;
  • In some cases, colour scheme options became hidden while changing hair or beard in a character creation – fixed;

User Interface

  • After using another interface, the enabled Tab mode might become disabled – fixed;
  • Fixed some UI issues if you select Font size 1.2 or higher;
  • In some cases, the first dialogue with Governor Hax could break the game and lead to a black screen – fixed;

Localization

  • Fixed some typos and untranslated strings;
  • Haymar talks about stretching legs twice – fixed;
  • Some dialogue barks might disappear too fast – we fixed it, now you can enjoy reading them;

Miscellaneous

  • When losing the competition in Bastion Serpentis, the Marksmanship Exercitor now takes the correct weapon from you;
  • When trying to get through Bastion Serpentis safety checks, the player’s party could get divided and block the game’s progress – fixed;
