Psychological terrors and eyes in the walls as BrokenLore: DONT WATCH launches today.
Indie studio Serafini Productions and publisher Shochiku just launched a terrifying new adventure where you escape from a six-square-meter Tokyo apartment. The claustrophobic backdrop to this new adventure follows shut in Shinji, as he finds himself under siege from a relentless, all-seeing terror from Japanese folklore.
Available now, via Steam, DON’T WATCH draws on the real-world phenomenon of hikikomori, individuals who hide themselves away from the pressures and expectations of society and rarely head outside. Mixing this with the myth of Hyakume, Serafini has an unusual experience waiting. As a monstrous being of 100 eyes appears in a concentrated space, you’ll find that even looking at this beast is risky. Lock eyes, and its stare will threaten to pierce you right at your core. In order to get out you’ll have to choose the right moment to close your eyes and avert your gaze, while overcoming the anxiety, isolation,, and judgment that holds Shinji back.
Developed with the help of psychologists to amp up the horror in a unique way, and melding a distinct visual appeal, BrokenLore: DONT WATCH is definitely intriguing. You can have a look at the trailer but try not to stare for too long. Head over to the official Steam Store page to find out more now.
