Of course, that game is still hyped to this day. It changed the way the GTA series could be played forever, with many still playing now. The inclusion of downloadable content and packs was a game-changer, with new missions, quests, and items enhancing the gameplay further. Why is GTA 6 being so hyped?
Given that players have had to wait patiently for more than a decade, it’s unsurprising that there has been so much hype surrounding the release of GTA 6. Indeed, it’s been a hard wait, as there have been delays and setbacks, with Rockstar Games admitting they were disappointed with what had first been developed. Still, gamers don’t have too much longer to wait, as it has been announced that a release will happen sometime this year (2025).
Is the hype real? You bet it is. As noted, GTA V changed everything. It gave us incredible gameplay experiences, with graphics and storylines that were exceptionally immersive. They left us on the edge of our seats as we aimed to complete the missions and side quests we were sent on. The open-world map was huge and provided us with so much content. However, it’s expected that we’ll have an even bigger map in the upcoming release. With more to do, we’re going to get more bang for our buck! Add in the ability to download additional content, it’s almost too exciting to just write about as we want to start playing as soon as possible!
Will it live up to the hype?
While the hype is real, a serious question about whether the game will be able to live up to it has to be asked. A 12-year wait for a release is going to come with added pressure. The delays experienced will have only added fuel to the fire, with gamers disappointed to not have been able to get their hands on a copy as early as they thought they might.
With GTA 5 still performing, GTA 6 will have plenty to live up to. However, if there’s anything we’ve learned about titles released from Rockstar Games and the GTA series, the wait can very often be extremely rewarding and worthwhile.
