Winnie’s Hole Reached Early Access

The developers from Twice Different have announced the release of dungeon crawler Winnie’s Hole is Early Access. The weirdest adventure of the famous bear begins on PC (Steam), inviting players onto an innovative roguelite adventure. The game promises a dark, but charming story, full of cute discomfort. Moreover, the developers promise to share roadmap for the project soon.

In Winnie’s Hole, the player takes the role of a virus inside Winnie’s body. Their goal is simple — evolve, spread, and ultimately survive through a symbiotic relationship. The game play is based on deck building and turn-based combats. Gathering cells and invoking mutations the players gain new abilities and advantages in battles.

Key Game Features

  • Viral Symbiosis: A virus inside a host, capturing cells to mutate and evolve.
  • Strategic Mapping: Gameplay replaces traditional roguelite maps with a turn-based system of placing and evolving Virus blocks to navigate and spread. Players make consequential “gut decisions” that direct the adventure.
  • Dynamic Brain Combat: Turn-based battles requires host’s brain activation to create powerful combos.
  • Roguelite Progression: New Perks, Mutations, and Virus Strains across runs.
  • Dark Fairytale Aesthetic: A storybook narrative reimagines Winnie’s story in a dark science setting, with art blending horror comedy and gritty, animation-inspired visuals.
