It is almost the time to take fight against the minions of the Scourge and set out to the icy wasteland of Northrend. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic launches on September 26. In order to bring players up to speed on some of the events before those of the game, developer Blizzard Entertainment shared a number of videos outlining the lore in short. The latest one is dedicated to the fallen Paladin prince, Arthas Menethil.
Narrated by Jaina Proudmoore, the video follows the tragic story of Arthas and the events that led him to pick up Frostmourne, ascend the Frozen Throne and don the Helm of Domination, becoming the master of the Scourge – the one and only Lich King. What does Plague have to do with it? Where did Kel’Thuzad come from? And how come it is all Invincible’s fault?
Check out the video above to learn more! The story of the young prince fallen to darkness is further explored in the novel Arthas: Rise of the Lich King by Christie Golden.
Additionally, Blizzard revealed that every player that has completed the Death Knight starting experience quest chain in Wrath of the Lich King Classic will receive the Frostbrood Proto-Wyrm mount in the retail version of the game. Are you ready to take your new mount for a spin in Dragonflight?
“Few proto-dragons were considered part of the frostbrood—only those that were risen from powerful remains, the members of long forgotten draconic flights.”
