Developer Kuro Games released two new videos from the new Developer Deep Dive series, dedicated to the Combat Systems & Level Design, respectively. There will be two more videos total, each exploring a different theme.
Before embarking on a new adventure in the new region, the team would like to share some behind-the-scenes stories from WuWa’s development. Note that the video is in Chinese with English subtitles. In particular, the Combat Systems video addresses Augusta’s time-stopping ultimate – what effect it had on the game, and how the developers had to work around the UI compatibility issues to work out the mechanic.
After that, the devs dive into Monster Design, which has a lot in common with the character design. From a clear concept as the foundation, to the initial design, to the in-game implementation. As an example, the devs go over the False Sovereign, and both his moves and design.
The second Developer Deep Dive video is dedicated to level design. Since the launch, the game saw many improvements for the open-world design and exploration, including the introduction of the fan-favorite flight system in V2.0.
