WuWa Explains Special Combat Mechanics - Negative Status

Ever wondering how the Negative Status effect works in WuWa? The developers from Kuro Games have your back. The latest Wuthering Waves blog post is dedicated to this special combat mechanic and the details of how it works.

During battle, certain attribute attacks inflict Negative Status on the target. Wuthering Waves’ Negative Status comes in six types, each carrying different effects. For example, Spectro attacks inflict a stackable Spectro Frazzle effect that deals Spectro damage to the target at regular intervals. The developers provite tips on how to inflict this state and stack it up while using Spectro Rover or the new Version 2.1 character, Phoebe. And, in case you didn’t start it yet, WuWa version 2.1 is now available for pre-download!

In addition to the inherent effects of WuWa Negative Status effects, some Resonators receive extra bonuses when battling foes with this battle condition. One such character is Phoebe herself.

Other Negative Status Effects Include:

  • Aero Erosion – inflicts Aero damage on the target at regular intervals as long as it lasts, with more stacks resulting in greater damage;
  • Havoc Bane – accumulates stacks automatically while it remains active. Once it reaches its maximum stacks, deals Havoc damage to the target, removes Havoc Bane, and applies it to nearby targets;
  • Fusion Burst – once it hits its maximum stacks, it ignites and removes those stacks, dealing Fusion damage;
  • Glacio Chafe – as the stacks increase, the target’s speed gradually decreases. Upon reaching max stacks, the target is frozen, and the stacks are removed;
  • Electro Flare – while it is active, it weakens the target’s attack, with more stacks further reducing their strength.
