A Yooka-Replaylee demo has dropped in time for steam Next Fest and its spectacular.
Get 30 minutes of hands on heroics featuring a familiar couple of faces in an adventure that’s set to expand beyond its original outing back in 2017. The Yooka-Replaylee demo is here. In fact, it dropped yesterday but don’t worry there’s plenty of time to try out the teaser. All you’ll need to do is find a pc and 30 minutes of time before the end of steam Next Fest on 16th June.
The new demo is the culmination of years of work, it features two friendly faces, as well as Dr Quack and a certain Honey B, but its way more than a simple port. The replay remake is a completely redone start to the game taking on the stunning Crystal Cave levels to give us a tutorial we really didn’t have last time , The demo takes us through the sliding doors of the Hivory Towers and all the way until they are about to enter their first Grand Tome. Finally, players will get a taste of the brand new Rextro’s Arcade gameplay component. Aside from the absolutely stellar tutorial, the new demo shows off a upgraded graphical set, a more complete set of cutscenes, and a fleshed out move list. Theres obviously been some level of work designed to rework the original, because it feels far slicker. That’s no surprise. Yooka-Replaylee is the definitive remade and enhanced version of the 3D indie platforming collection darling, Yooka-Laylee.
What players need to look forward to is a new remixed challenges and old favorites as you embark to explore the huge, beautiful open worlds as the lovable buddy-duo Yooka and Laylee. An expanded map, a new currency, a dreamy orchestral soundtrack, and more are coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox later this year. For now the demo is available on Steam.
