Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles on 7 January 2025.
XS has announced that classic RPG Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is set to get a remastered release across Nintendo Switch systems, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 next year. The return of this iconic entry on the Ys series of adventures will arrive on both platforms as a digital release, with a limited “Refined Edition” accompanying it for physical collectors. While this is something of a delay from the Japanese launch, fans across Europe and North America can expect an experience tailored to the western audience with a English and Japanese voice-over options included.
The new release of a long running quest follows thrill-seeking protagonist Adol and his blue-haired companion Dogi as they return to Dogi’s homeland of Felghana. Retaining the stylized graphics and feel of a 16-bit console creation, the land is now filled with monsters and malevolent fiends. A greedy overlord, an active volcano, and more wait for players when they travel to Felghana.
While there’s still a familiar aesthetic, the graphics are now high res, , three different iterations of the epic soundtrack are available, brand new illustrations are included, and a bunch of accessibility changes look to be included for the new version.
Players already convinced can pre order both the digital and physical version. Digital pre orders are ongoing via the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch, and cost $29.99. Physical pre orders can be found at participating retailers and on the Marvelous USA Online Store for the Nintendo Switch™ and PlayStation®5. The limited launch edition will include a copy of the game packaged with a soundtrack CD featuring 14 songs, an acrylic diorama/keychain set, a set of four postcards featuring art from the game, and a graphic cleaner cloth for an MSRP of $59.99. The standalone base game will be available digitally on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 for $29.99.
