The developers of urban action RPG Zenless Zone Zero are back with the first sneak peek at the upcoming characters, joining the roster in Version 1.7. The first newcomer is Vivian, an Ether Anomaly agent that made her first appearance during the Bangboo event of Version 1.5. Together with Hugo, another new S-rank, she is a part of the Mockingbird phantom thief faction and possibly shares a common past with Lycaon.

Vivian – S-rank Ether Anomaly
Coming to plug the final hole in the Anomaly roster and complete the initial line-up like the Infinity Gauntlet, Vivian is an S-rank Ether Anomaly that belongs to the Mockingbird faction. The proxies had a few run-ins with them: during Lycaon’s Agent story it was revealed that he has some past with this organization, and Vivian & Hugo have arrived to check out Astra’s concert in V1.5, only to steal a sentimental personal record.
Now, Vivian will play a role in V1.6 as an important auction is held in new Eridu. Does the Mockingbird target the auction lot? Or is their target actually Phaethon since they seem to be awfully interested in the legendary Proxy?
Outside of work, Vivian seems to be a well put together person: she can work up to five jobs in a day, and has introduced Sjal to the world of hustling, directly leading to the best repeating in-game event. Additionally, no matter what she picks up, she will turn it in at the precinct, even if it is something as small as a stray balloon.
“Robbers? Thieves? Call us whatever you want, for we do not bother with the opinions of worthless trash.”
Version 1.6 introduces a new drive disc set that seems to be specifically for Vivian. It would imply that she’s an off-field Anomaly, similar to Burnice. So get ready to farm!
Hugo – S-rank Ice Attack
Hugo, Lycaon’s old friend and current enemy, is the next S-rank character to join the roster of the game. He is the leader of the Mockingbird, a criminal organization of phantom thieves that has a certain fame and glory among the civilians and a keen interest in Phaethon. Our paths will cross again during the auction in Version 1.6.
Don’t be discouraged by his Ice Attack role – despite Ice already featuring two powerful DPS, Ellen and Miyabi, Hugo might bring something completely new to the table. It seems that off-field is the name of the game between Pulchra, Trigger and Vivian, so maybe Hugo is an off-field preferring Attacker as well, either relying on his burst like Zhu Yuan and Harumasa, or utilizing the new Aftershock mechanic like Soldier 0 Anby.
