HoYoverse took to the official HoYolab page to share the latest Zenless Zone Zero Dev Talk, dedicated to new reveals and things to come.
The team notes that the upcoming Version 2.4 will be a turning point in the story. As Sarah rushes towards the Creator and Ye Shiyuan makes his entrance, Season 2’s climax approaches. The main storyline’s objectives will become clearer, and more mysteries about the depths of the Lemnian Hollow will be gradually unveiled.
The converging storylines design structure aims to let players witness the growth of various characters, ultimately taking the stage together. But the team also heard players loud and clear that the narrative structure feels familiar, and characters pop out of nowhere. To that end, the Dev Talk promises that the team will deeply integrate narrative with gameplay to provide more diverse and exciting plot experiences. In V2.4, Ye Shunguang will gradually get acquainted with the Proxies.
Other ZZZ reveals include:
- Old friends are always here. While everyone has their own social circles, characters will continue to appear in the Proxies’ lives.
- The main story will have an increased relevance to the AI plotline, and Inter-Knot will be regularly updated.
- New shops are opening in the new Eridu. That includes the 404 Error live house, the antique shop, and the hotpot restaurant.
- Version 2.5 will bring more updates to sandbox exploration, new way to get around (related to Ye Shunguang’s abilities), map and gameplay integration, and more.
- Hollow Zero is getting a massive upgrade.
- Multiplayer gameplay is back.
- Version 2.5 will feature specific power-ups for standard characters.
