Walt Disney Animation showed off the first full-length trailer for the upcoming sequel Zootopia 2. Get ready for trouble and make it double, Judy and Nick arrive on November 26 to the theaters.
Originally released in 2016, Zootopia follows the adventures of rookie police officer Judy Hopps and a con artist Nick Wilde. However, the big spin is that the two are a rabbit and a fox respectively, living in a metropolis inhabited by other anthropomorphic animals. The story goes in great depth about the relationship between the prey and the predator animals, and how things aren’t always what they seem to be.
However, despite cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, the working relationship between the two crumbles and they’re ordered to join the Partners in Crisis counseling program. Their partnership then is put to the ultimate test as they find themselves in the middle of a twisting trail of a mystery, tied to the arrival of a new, poisonous character.
While “Zootopia 2” introduces Gary De’Snake (voice of Ke Huy Quan), Nibbles (voice of Fortune Feimster) and quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby (voice of Quinta Brunson), the upcoming feature film also welcomes back a herd of characters who made their debut in the Oscar-winning film “Zootopia.”
“It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members,” said director/writer Jared Bush (chief creative officer for Walt Disney Animation Studios). “I can’t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.”
