Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 is available now on PC, Xbox, PlayStaion, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices. There are plenty of exciting additions and enhancements to look forward to, including but not limited to new story, new characters and specialization (Rupture), new location, new Hollow Zero expansion, Quick Nav, and more!
But what will affect your everyday life the most is the change that has been introduced to the map system, including the new quick navigation option. Gone are the days of scrolling through the list of locations and points of interest to get where you need.
Between the new Quick Navigation system and the updated map/minimap, moving through New Eridu and Waifei Peninsula’s Failume Heights is more efficient than ever.
Let’s check out what the new system has to offer! Note that there were no changes to the maps themselves, the Sixth Street is the same as ever, but it is now more comfortable and quick to get around. Once you get used to the new system, of course.
When you first log in after the update went live, the first thing to pop out is the addition of the new mini-map and the abundance of colors. To make it easier to navigate, the developers from HoYoverse gave the different types of content their own distinct markets.
For example, trust events are now marked with bold purple, standing out from the rest, be it simple chats, or main quests, or some side gig.
It doesn’t really change the way you hustle around Sixth Street and Scott’s Outpost and other locations from Season One, as moving around them has likely been ingrained into your muscle memory at this point. However, it does come in handy when you venture into the new city, Failume Heights, and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings.

The new map function also allows you to admire the shape of Sixth Street and other in-game locations, as well as quickly jump between available zones without having to scroll through the long list, then miss what you need, and scrolls again with some extra intensity.
The only thing that is missing for me, personally, is an option to zoom out even further to get an idea of where exactly is the Sixth Street (or Port Elpis, or Lumina Street) are located within the larger New Eridu and compared to each other. The linear approach of Zenless Zone Zero makes it hard to imagine New Eridu is an actual living, breathing city rather than a loosely connected set of linear zones.
The new map is the first step to get there. You can also rotate, zoom in or out, and slide around to see it in much greater detail than before. While zones themselves have not changed, I’ve gained a little more appreciation to the game’s level design.
The map also gives you a quick overview of what’s what in the zone you’re currently in. For example, the available trust events, how many cargo boxes you’ve found, and if there are still any Bangboo in need of some help.

Last but certainly not least is the revamp to the Quick Navigation, or as the game puts it, Quick Nav. Instead of scrolling through a long list of points of interest, you now have a set of tightly packed cards that doesn’t bloat over your screen… yet. It helps you quickly find where you need to go and proceed on with your daily ZZZ activities.
As the game continues to grow and the number of locations increases, it will likely need to find yet another solution to Quick Nav. A couple Versions or a Season in, and even these cards would need to be scrolled through before you find what you need. But for now, it is a great Quality of Life that will save some aggravation, especially when you need to hop through a series of zones for one reason or another.
