INMO has officially launched its Go3 smart glasses on Kickstarter, moving the hardware from its award-winning debut at CES earlier this year into the hands of early adopters. While the industry has been cluttered with heavy, battery-drained prototypes, the Go3 focuses on being a practical tool for the real world.
The headline feature here is undoubtedly the real-time AI translation. When paired with the optional INMO Speaker, these glasses can handle bidirectional dialogue translation across 98 target languages. It is essentially a subtitle track for your daily life, projecting translations directly onto the dual Micro-LED displays.
For professionals, the device also includes an integrated AI teleprompter with voice-follow mode and automatic meeting transcription, which can generate summaries and action items across platforms like Zoom and WhatsApp. Interestingly, the system is powered by dual large language models, allowing users to switch between ChatGPT and Gemini depending on their specific needs.
Hardware-wise, INMO is attempting to solve the “all-day wear” problem with a remarkably slim 8mm temple design that integrates the mainboard and battery into a frame weighing approximately 58 grams. They have introduced a magnetic battery system that allows for a five-second swap. Instead of tethering yourself to a wall when the 270mAh battery runs low, you can swap in a fresh one from the 1300mAh charging case, which provides three to four full charges. This setup supports about three hours of continuous translation or over eight hours of standby.
The glasses are built using a five-axis CNC-machined aluminum alloy frame, giving them a fingerprint-resistant matte texture that looks more like standard eyewear than a piece of tech. The visual experience relies on a binocular green monochrome display using diffractive waveguide optics with a 30-degree field of view and a brightness of 1,500 nits. This ensures that navigation prompts from the built-in HERE Maps stay legible even in bright outdoor environments. Privacy concerns are addressed with a physical camera cover, a simple but effective mechanical shield for social settings.
