The start of every new month always seems to come along with a fresh look at what’s in store for the next 30-something days. May 2025 is no different with a host of new titles that are sure to please just about everyone. Whether you’re a fan of RPGs or high-octane action, this month has plenty in store for everyone. Let’s take a peek.
May 5 – Stellaris: BioGenesis
Let’s start with the add-on for the 4X strategy game Stellaris. The DLC will give you the opportunity to become a great geneticist, grow living ships, design ecosystems and breed improved races.
The add-on revises the genetic transformation, puts it under the control of bioships, and allows you to grow a monster, which can later be set in the galaxy. Sounds ominous and scary… And this is just the first game on our list.
May 6 – Captain Blood
Captain Blood is a dynamic pirate adventure inspired by the famous novel with the same name by Rafael Sabatini. However, only the name of the protagonist and the atmosphere of pirate life in the 17th century remained from the source material. If the prospect of sailing the Caribbean Sea in search of treasure, gun battles with other ships, fierce hand-to-hand combat on deck, sabers, knives, and revolvers appeals to you, then you have a good wind in your sails!
May 6 – Trench Tales
A third-person shooter set in a dystopian alternate world during the First and Second World Wars. The game will be released in Early Access and will allow us to use unique abilities and upgradeable weapons to explore eerie gothic landscapes, battle fallen soldiers, and uncover the secrets of the world. You can join the playtest now and try out this mystical shooter to see if you need it or not.
May 6 – Metal Eden
A sci-fi shooter in which the player must rescue a human colony trapped in a hive tower by mysterious engineers. The setting is the abandoned monolithic planetary city of Mobius and the planet Vulcan itself. In order not to get bored with shooting the oncoming waves of enemies from the Internal Security Corps, the game added a wide range of opportunities for parkour and acrobatic combat, as well as flying on a jetpack and the ability to curl up into a jet balloon and shoot down or ram opponents.
May 6 – Age of Empires II: DE – The Three Kingdoms
The Three Kingdoms tells the epic story of the Three Kingdoms period, adding five new civilizations, three campaigns, and two new difficulty levels. The first is the “easiest”, for enjoying the story without any problems, and the second is the “legendary”. Perhaps it should be taken only by eager cybersportsmen with excellent microcontrol. You say that the second part is the best part of all Age of Empires. Is that true?
May 8 – Spirit of the North 2
The game will tell the adventures of a lonely fox and her companion raven as they try to find lost guards and return home. This exciting third-person adventure is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Spirit of the North. Features include an open world, ability upgrades, skill selection, puzzle solving, platforming, and an inspiring story. The game will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox consoles.
May 8 – The Midnight Walk
Players take on the role of a mysterious character named Burned as he and his companion, the living lantern Potboy, embark on a dark journey through a world plunged into darkness. The gameplay combines elements of puzzle, stealth, and exploration.
May 8 – Darfall
It’s a mix of many genres: survival, strategy, role playing, and base defense. The developers themselves say that the game has something of Diablo. In fact, it can be compared with Age of Darkness. Games of similar genres and objectives. While the bold hybrid will be released only on PC, but without early access.
May 13 – The Precinct
The Precinct is a GTA-like game with an isometric view that combines a neon-noir atmosphere with exciting car chases. In addition, the game is expected to feature L.A. Noire-like investigations, as well as search and capture criminals on the streets of the local city. We expect it on all modern platforms.
May 15 – Doom: The Dark Ages.
For this game, you’d better take a vacation, and preferably for a week. A universally acclaimed shooter that takes us into the past of the Executioner of Doom and tells the story of a medieval confrontation with Hell. An incredibly entertaining tale of the Executioner of Doom and his wrath, revealing the backstory of DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. On May 13th, Premium Edition owners will have access. And on May 15th, the game will be released alongside the PC, PS5, and Xbox series on Game Pass.
May 15 – Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate Fortune
Ubisoft seems to have lost its fear, because on the same day as Doom, they are releasing the Pirate Fortune add-on for Star Wars Outlaws. The add-on will tell a new story in which Kay Vess and her companion Nyx embark on an unprecedented interstellar mission. There is a catch to the add-on, you must complete the main story to access it.
May 20 – RoadCraft
You are the head of a company that specializes in rebuilding areas affected by natural disasters. Use your equipment to restart the local industry. Clear the area, rebuild roads, bridges, and other facilities! An expanded Snow Runner, that’s how I would characterize this game. For fans of cooperative construction, RoadCraft features co-op for up to 4 players. The game will be released on all modern platforms except Switch.
May 22 – Blades of Fire
The game will offer not only an action-adventure game, but also a unique weapon creation system, where we will forge our own swords, axes and axes and their quality will determine the outcome of the battle.
Some of the unpleasant news is that Blades of Fire will be distributed exclusively through Epic Games Store, but it will be released in addition to PC and on PS5 and Xbox Series.
May 22 – Deliver At All Costs
A thrilling action game where destruction, absurdity, and intrigue come together! Join Winston Green as he delivers unconventional cargoes, leaving chaos and destruction in his wake! There’s a great demo on Steam – you can feel all the fun for yourself. Total insanity, distractibility, and lawlessness worse than GTA. Top view.
May 22 – Out of Sight
An atmospheric horror game that combines first and second-person perspectives with chilling voice acting. It promises to be an emotional adventure, and the game itself is very reminiscent of the Little Nightmares series. Danger lurks around every corner – one false step, a squeaky floorboard, or an unexpected hiccup can lead to imprisonment… and the unknown.
May 30 – Elden Ring Nightreign
A separate adventure in the ELDEN RING universe, which will give a new experience by changing the basic principles of the game, adding flying, and a map with bosses and a time limit. New bosses, three-player co-op mode, and different classes of heroes that can only be defeated in a united team. The game will appear on all modern platforms, and will give new emotions to your favorite game, and I have no doubt.
May 30 – Lost Soul Aside
The adventure will tell the story of saving humanity from mysterious interdimensional invaders from other dimensions. The game is reminiscent of DMC, last year’s Stellar Blade, and Final Fantasy. Judging by the trailers and screenshots, the graphics, combat, and other aspects of the game will be at the highest level!
May 30 – F1 25.
The official game of the Formula One Championship 2025 has an updated “My Team” mode, with the third chapter of “Formula Victory” but without the Russian language. In addition, this is EA Games, which means you get bonuses for pre-order and are unavailable for some regions; it’s up to you to decide whether you need them or not.
MAY – Section 13
It will come out of early access and will be a dual-stick shooter with roguelike elements for 1-3 players. Cross-platform play will not be supported. The closest analog is Alien Shooter, but only with roguelike elements. The player will have a choice of 4 heroes, various power-ups and new weapons that will be unlocked as the game progresses. Section 13 will be released in May on PC, PS5, and Xbox consoles.
These are the games that await us in May 2025. In my opinion, at least some of them are definitely worth a try. Write in the comments which games you are waiting for, which games you have already added to your wishlist, and which games I might have forgotten. We’ll get to the bottom of this.
Happy games everyone!
