Gamespace has selected the most notable new releases for April. Let’s see what the coming weeks have in store!

People of Note

We’re kicking off the month with People of Note, a musical role-playing game featuring colorful characters and a solid cast of voice actors. Players will explore a vast world where each region is dedicated to a specific genre of music. Players can also look forward to rhythm- and tactics-based puzzles and turn-based battles. However, many of these mechanics can be customized or disabled if desired.

The Occultist

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss

The collection of Lovecraftian horror games is about to get another addition. The new title, *Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss*, is being developed by Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind the detective-mystery game *The Council*. You can rest assured that the game will have a great atmosphere.

In 2053, all sorts of occult nonsense are happening around the world, and humanity is turning its gaze to the depths of the ocean. Our hero heads there to investigate the miners’ disappearance, but encounters nothing but mounting madness.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire

How about stepping back into a world inspired by classic cartoons? This time, experience the stylish shooter Mouse: P.I. for Hire. This time, however, the lead role won’t be played by the cheerful Mickey, but by a private detective in the noir-style city of Mausburg. Armed with a variety of cartoonish weapons, the hero will unravel a web of corruption and take down local gangsters to the sound of jazz. By all accounts, the gameplay will be just as awesome as the visuals!

Atomic Heart: Blood on the Crystal

The original Atomic Heart game was released in 2023, and it took the developers three more years to release all of the planned expansions. The fourth and final DLC will be available in April, finally bringing the chaotic events surrounding Enterprise 3826 to a close.

According to the synopsis, P-13 and the Twin must travel to the “Crystal” complex to confront HRAS and hordes of enemies, including the Polymorphs, who have the ability to alter their appearance and powers.

While the story of the first game will conclude with this expansion, Mundfish has no plans to abandon the universe. A full-fledged sequel, Atomic Heart 2, is already in development, as is a cooperative spin-off titled The Cube.

The Japanese developers at Capcom are releasing the highly anticipated sci-fi action game Pragmata. More than two million users have added the game, which follows the survival of the protagonist and his android companion, Diana, on a lunar research station, to their wish lists.

This story-driven action game features science fiction elements and is set in the near future on the moon. It centers on astronaut Hugh Williams and Diana, a mysterious little girl, who are trying to survive a disaster linked to an experiment to colonize the Moon. Gameplay revolves around realistic physics and environmental manipulation. Players can alter gravity and use complex rope systems to solve puzzles and engage in combat. Diana’s revelation as an android in a child’s body adds a science-fiction twist to the emotional “father-daughter” narrative.

Players will also battle evil creatures of the night and, of course, kick chickens. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a new, divine sandbox game that could provide hours of wonderful entertainment.

The story revolves around the “Everness” phenomenon, a mysterious realm that is encroaching on reality. The protagonist is an anomaly appraiser who works at an antique shop, earning a living by fulfilling anomaly-related requests from city residents. He switches between the ordinary world and its mystical underbelly. The gameplay offers complete freedom, from high-speed car races to parkour skyscraper exploration to turn-based anomaly battles.

Saros

The creators of Returnal are releasing a new game that will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5. This sci-fi roguelike action game has a strong emphasis on cinematic storytelling. The protagonist, Patrolman Arjun Devraj, arrives at a lost extraterrestrial colony to find a loved one in a bleak world consumed by a cosmic phenomenon. In this world, death is a mechanic that alters the environment and relationships with other characters. Players can look forward to lightning-fast shootouts, procedurally generated levels, and the use of 3D audio technology and DualSense’s adaptive triggers. The game is positioned as a “blockbuster” featuring well-known Hollywood actors.

Adorable Adventures

Also, at the end of April, players will transform into little piglets in Adorable Adventures. The hero must travel the world, using their sense of smell to find a family separated by a forest fire.

Along the way, Boris (the piglet’s name) will uncover many secrets by following scents and solving puzzles. Adorable Adventures has a very meditative gameplay style, and gamers will also get to wallow in the mud.

Invincible VS

And finally, fans of *Invincible* can look forward to the *Invincible VS.* fighting game. The developers promise intense 3-on-3 battles featuring familiar, beloved—or hated—characters on both sides.

By the way, you’ll be able to try out the fighting game on consoles ahead of time during the open beta from April 9 to 11. So the developers will surely have time to iron out any remaining issues and improve optimization before the April 30 release.
