The upcoming release of GTA 6 is set to transform the gaming industry. Don’t expect any major releases after September — developers are working around the clock to refine their games as quickly as possible so as not to compete with this behemoth. This is precisely why, rather than the usual summer lull, we’re seeing a flood of releases of all kinds, even in July 2026. So, the backlog review is canceled once again.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations
- Release Date: July 7
- Platforms: PC, PS5, XS
Revelations is the long-awaited expansion to DOOM: The Dark Ages (2025), a prequel to the iconic first-person shooter series that debuted in 1993. Without giving too much away, Revelations takes place directly after the events of the 2025 game.
It brings an all-new story campaign, new enemies to vanquish, enhanced combat abilities, secrets to uncover, and new modes. Judging by the gameplay trailers, this expansion has the potential to surpass its main game counterpart and looks more like a sequel than an expansion.
Moonlight Peaks
- Release date: July 7
- Platforms: PC, Switch 2, Switch
While cozy slice-of-life sims are nothing new, Moonlight Peaks puts a nice twist on the genre by adding a few supernatural elements. At its core, the game still involves farming, making friends, and exploring a small town. However, with its focus on potion crafting and striking Gothic aesthetics, it resembles an arcane version of Stardew Valley.
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced
- Release Date: July 9
- Platforms: PC, PS5, XS
Quite a few pirate games have been released in recent years, but which one has managed to recapture the sense of freedom delivered by Black Flag back in 2013? Resynced isn’t just a remaster; it’s a complete remake of the original game. Boarding, ship hunting and exploring underwater ruins are all still there, but you can now move seamlessly between the open sea and major cities without any loading screens. The ‘Jackdaw’ plays an even greater role: new officers grant the ship special abilities, and naval combat now features barrels of shrapnel and light cannons that help to expose weak spots in the hull.
On land, parkour has been updated to include a ‘manual jump’, ziplines and the ability to crouch anywhere. Stealth no longer results in instant failure if you lose sight of your target while tailing them, and combat has been redesigned around parries and follow-up attacks. Enemies react to repetitive moves, so it is no longer possible to wait indefinitely for a convenient counterattack.
For many, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remains the best game in the series. That’s why the chance to return to the familiar Caribbean, without the old technical limitations and annoying quirks, feels like a real treat. The only question is whether Ubisoft has gone too far with the updates in an attempt to please both veterans and a new audience. Will the sense of freedom that makes Black Flag so fondly remembered remain? We’ll find out on 9 July.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink — Endless Ragnarok
- Release date: 9 July 2026
- Platform(s): PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC
Fans of Granblue Fantasy: Relink should prepare for a new adventure. In July, the game will be expanded significantly with the release of Endless Ragnarok, which will offer new story-driven challenges and opportunities for co-op enthusiasts, as well as expanding the content.
The DLC will introduce a new story arc, powerful summoned creatures, a series of challenging quests and a new mode called The Conflux. Players can unlock this mode by completing a side quest in Chapter 6 of the main campaign, after which they can enjoy single-player challenges with roguelike elements, where each playthrough will be unique.
Fans of co-op gameplay won’t be left out either. The developers have prepared new, more challenging co-op missions, as well as additional bosses that require coordinated teamwork to defeat.
Although Endless Ragnarok isn’t a standalone game, the sheer volume of content in the expansion makes it a strong contender for one of July’s most notable releases. It’s a great reason for veterans to return to the world of Zegagrand, and a chance for newcomers to experience one of the most successful anime action RPGs in recent years.
Palworld
- Release date: 10 July
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Palworld spent two and a half years in early access, but it quickly became one of the biggest gaming sensations of 2024. The formula proved to be incredibly addictive: you catch Pal creatures, but it’s not just about collecting them. They fight alongside you, harvest wood and ore, work on farms, carry cargo, operate conveyor belts and defend your base from raids. This means that every new Pal is not only a potential fighter but also a valuable worker with a unique skill set.
By July, the game featured over a hundred Pals, a vast open world, more than 350 items, and over 70 types of structures. However, the release of version 1.0 is about more than just removing the “Early Access” label. On 10 July, the World Tree will open — a massive restricted area that players have been able to see on the horizon since the first day of Early Access. Along with it will come new territories, a new threat, and a record number of Pals in a single update.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu
- Release Date: July 15
- Platforms: PC, PS5, XS
Co-op horror games rarely work well: when you’re with friends, the fear usually quickly turns into jokes in the voice chat. The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu takes a different approach. Before each expedition, a party of up to four players selects weapons and equipment on the galleon before setting off into the cursed jungle in search of treasure. What follows is an unusual race for loot.
The deeper you venture, the more otherworldly creatures will distort your perception: silhouettes in the fog may turn out to be enemies, familiar landmarks may be illusions, and a teammate’s voice in your headphones will no longer guarantee that they are really standing before you. The jungle reacts to noise, so shooting, running, and causing a commotion will attract threats. As the title suggests, this is another game set in the universe of H. P. Lovecraft. However, the horror here doesn’t rely on familiar names or tentacles in the background. It makes you doubt what you’re seeing and turns your own teammates into potential threats.
The Guild: Europa 1410
- Release date: 16 July
- Platforms: PC
The Guild: Europa 1410 is an economic strategy game that focuses not on kingdoms and armies, but on a medieval family trying to make a name for itself. You start with a modest workshop and can choose to become a blacksmith, an alchemist or a tailor. You then set up production and trade. However, as always, money will be tight, so you will have to get involved in city politics. Positions in the town hall enable you to influence legislation, and the path to the top involves cultivating a reputation, forming alliances, offering bribes and resorting to blackmail.
Alternatively, you can take the criminal path, involving robbing wagons, sending pickpockets to target townspeople, and kidnapping people for ransom. However, every crime leaves clues that rivals can use in court. Consequently, you’ll need to consider not only profit but also who you’ve crossed.
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian
- Release date: 20 July
- Platforms: PC
Power rarely comes with a clear instruction manual, and that’s exactly how you could describe The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian. This interactive role-playing game involves spending most of your time reading through events, making decisions and seeing how they shape the future of the story. You will guide the protagonist through the different stages of his life, from childhood to the point at which his decisions affect not just one family, but an entire empire.
Each chapter presents a new dilemma: should you uphold the old order or defy it? Should you keep a promise or hold on to power? Should you listen to the Church, the nobility or the common people? The choices you make will shape future events and the options available to you, meaning that the same conflict can be resolved in different ways. This isn’t a typical strategy game involving armies, nor is it a ruler simulator in Excel. It’s more like a large interactive book in which you decide what kind of person the future emperor will become.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game
- Release date: 23 July
- Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2
In Avatar, magic has always functioned as a martial art: water can be used to change distance, earth can be used to block the path, and air can be used to allow fighters to dodge attacks. This sounds like the perfect description of fighting game mechanics. In fact, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is exactly that. At launch, there are 12 fighters from The Legend of Aang and The Legend of Korra, and you can choose one of three companions for each one — they alter specific moves.
The main mechanic is called ‘Flow Stance’. Pressing a button once allows you to dodge, duck under an attack, leap into the air or immediately follow up with a special move. Each fighter has a different set of these actions, meaning that Aang, Azula and Sokka won’t play identically, despite their different visual effects.
Dinoblade
- Release date: 23 July 2026
- Platform(s): PC
Dinoblade remains one of the most unique action RPGs in recent years. Players are invited to venture into a prehistoric world, where they take on the role of a Spinosaurus that battles enemies with a massive sword clenched between its teeth.
It combines a Souls-like combat system with classic RPG elements. Players must develop their character’s abilities, master new combat techniques and explore a variety of biomes, from arid canyons to dense jungles. Each region is ruled by a powerful Alpha Predator, and defeating them opens the path forward.
The story sees the world on the brink of extinction following a catastrophic event, with the survival of the species depending on the outcome of brutal battles with other dinosaurs. Furthermore, many opponents are also armed with deadly weapons, making every battle a real challenge for fans of hardcore action games.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
- Release date: 28 July
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
The original Halo: Combat Evolved was released a quarter of a century ago and became a classic thanks to the variety of gameplay mechanics incorporated into each battle. Each firefight functions as a small tactical challenge. For example, it is more effective to first take down an enemy’s shield with a plasma weapon and then switch to a standard weapon. A grenade can also be used to flush an enemy out of cover. In open terrain, you can hijack a vehicle and completely change the course of the battle. Enemies don’t just stand still — they hide, flank you and pick up weapons left behind by fallen allies, meaning no two encounters are ever the same.
Campaign Evolved won’t just be a graphical update; it’s a complete remake of the original Halo campaign. Alongside new cutscenes and redesigned levels, nine additional weapons from other games in the series will feature in familiar missions, including an assault rifle and a lightsaber. For the first time in this campaign, players will be able to hijack enemy vehicles and pilot a heavy Covenant tank. The remake will also include three new missions from the “Operation Meteor” arc, as well as support for “Skulls”, modifiers that alter gameplay mechanics and significantly increase replayability.
Mistfall Hunter
- Release date: 29 July
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Not every game in the extraction genre needs to start with an assault rifle and a bulletproof vest. Mistfall Hunter takes this familiar formula and transplants it into a dark fantasy setting. You choose a class, assemble your arsenal and abilities, and then set out alone or with a group of up to three other players into the mist-infested lands. As you explore the map, you’ll encounter monsters, chests, rare materials and other players who are after the same loot.
The combat system in Mistfall Hunter is built around melee combat and class abilities. Each archetype has its own set of skills, and the outcome of a battle depends on timing, parrying, dodging, and the wise use of resources. During combat, you can switch weapons, combine class abilities and customize talents and gear to suit your play style. However, the main objective is not to clear the map, but to escape with valuable loot. To achieve this, you must find and activate an evacuation point before the fog engulfs the location. If you die along the way, you’ll lose everything you’ve collected. Even a successful monster hunt could result in an encounter with another team at the exit.
The Relic: First Guardian
- Release date: 31 July
- Platforms: PC, PS5, XBO, XS, NS2
If you have played Souls-like games before, you will know that you should not swing your sword recklessly or your stamina will run out before the fight is over. The Relic: First Guardian works differently. Here, stamina is only required for blocking and dodging; attacks and active skills don’t consume any. This makes combat fast-paced and aggressive: you can keep your opponent on the defensive, parry at the right moment, and switch weapons to suit the situation.
Relic: First Guardian is a third-person action RPG featuring semi-open environments, dungeons, and enormous bosses. The game does not feature a traditional character leveling system. Instead, character progression is based on found weapons and armor, crafting and memory relics, which unlock new effects and enhance your chosen combat style. Equipment won’t drop in batches with identical stats — every blade and piece of armor is unique in the game world. Another reason to keep an eye on this game is its bosses, which are inspired by Korean folklore. Up to 80 enemies have been announced, each with its own story.
