Wargaming has announced a Steel Hunters Early Access date, asking you to get in the robot on 2 April 2025.
Steel hunters, the ridiculously big robot battler from the World of Tanks team, is set to stomp into Early Access on 2 April 2025. The date just dropped and anybody eager to play out their Gundam fantasy can sign up for some free chrome carnage on PC, via the Wargaming Game Centre and Steam. Featuring a bewildering array of mechanised weaponry, lasers, explosives, and genre tropes, players can look forward to an intense mech powered brawl from the comfort of their very own Hunter.
Steel Hunters is something of a deviation from the normal mix of land air and sea that makes up the more traditional portfolio for Wargaming. The online battle studio is stepping into an entirely new IP, where players control formidable mechanical giants—Hunters—and participate in action-packed battles. In a race to acquire gear, level up, and reach an extraction zone, pilots must navigate a range of challenges. Collect valuable resources while engaging in PvPvE. Turn other Hunters into scrap by using a diverse range of movement and weaponry.
Right now, a range of weapon platforms are on offer, including Razorside, Heartbreaker, Fenris, Ursus, Trenchwalker, Prophet, and Weaver. Every one of these looks and plays differently, with unique ability kits, and progression systems that lean into different tactics. You can check out the trailer to see for yourself.
Whether you’re ready to swing a laser sword or inhabit a mechanical tiger, Steel Hunters look pretty slick. You can see how it plays when the Steel Hunters early access date arrives on 2 April.
