Playtonic has confirmed a Yooka-Replaylee console release will land across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
The troublesome twosome of Yooka and Laylee are coming to consoles. The definitive edition of this [air’s first adventure is finally set to romp onto every current generation console. Announced today by the team at Playtonic, this news means fans of this wacky adventure can play an upgraded and enhanced version of the 3D platformer soon.
While we don’t know the release date for this big reveal, we do know that things are going to be brighter, bolder, and zanier than before. Improved platforming and gameplay, tweaked challenges, new characters (meet Coinelius!), the new currency (Q.U.I.D.S) and a visual overhaul make this fit for any big screen play through. The new trailer gives us a look at the replaylee, and a very first taste of the glistening orchestral soundtrack.
Players eager to get hands on can even try out the new and improved Glitterglaze Glacier map. Check out every new art asset, reworked move sets, and bathe in that glorious soundscape at EGX. The smell of unwashed fandom is not part of the experience, btw. While we didn’t manage to nab a pass to this weekend’s anime and gaming event in London’s Excel Centre, you can still head over, try out the Yooka-Replaylee console demo, and maybe head down to see what else is on offer. Alternatively, stay at home and find out more over on the official website.
