At the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Square Enix presented more than fifty minutes of gameplay for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. The remake of the classic JRPG from the first PlayStation era. It brings back the charming adventure beyond the Estard shores. The new version of the Dragon Quest VII Fragments of the Forgotten Past features hand-crafted graphics, and diorama art gives the familiar adventure new charm and unique vibes. Moreover, gameplay received changes too, tweaking the battle mechanics and improving quality of life. Therefore, the remake should feel fresh and modern for both new players and seasoned veterans.
As before, players take the role of a young boy who has never left his homeland island, Estard. The journey starts as a wish to find out what lies beyond the familiar shores. Along with daring childhood friends, the boy starts his adventure through the mysteries of the world. What secrets lie in the Shrine of Mysteries? Why are there only small islands all around? Those are answers the brave team will have to find.
