The developers of open-world action-adventure Genshin Impact held the latest special program dedicated to the upcoming Version 4.8: Summertide Scales and Tales. Players are in for a new limited-time summer location and event, new limited 5-star character Emilie, skins for Nilou and Kirara, and much more! Version 4.8 will be landing on July 17 and marking the end of Fontaine cycle. From that point on, the next station is Natlan! But before you can set off to this yet unexplored region, there is a new limited-time map to visit: Simulanka. There will be new stories to take part in, seasonal events, rich rewards, and more.
“Simulanka is a captivating world consisting of several distinct lands populated by origami creatures, clockwork figures, and other fantastical beings. Together with Kirara, Nilou, Navia, and the Wanderer, players can explore the enchanting landscapes, lend a hand to resolve an impending crisis, as well as uncover the truth and surprises of this magical world.”
But the most important things first: the banners, so that Travelers can properly allocate their Primogem budgets. The first half of the patch will see the rerun of two beloved 5-star characters: Fontaine’s own President of Spina di Rosula Navia (Geo Claymore) and Sumeru’s famous dancer Nilou (Hydro Sword).
The second phase will introduce brand-new Dendro Polearm Emilie, Fontaine’s famous perfumer, and welcome back Yelan (Hydro Bow). They will be accompanied by their respective signature weapons, including the brand-new 5-star Polearm Lumidouce Elegy.
The excitement doesn’t end there! Both Nilou and Kirara are in for a make-over, getting properly fairy tale-themed skins to commemorate this summer dream. While Nilou’s premium skin can only be acquired via the shop, Kirara’s is purchasable with the special Simulanka currency “Excerpts of Bliss”. But be fast, it is only available in such a format for this Version before being added to the in-game store.
- Nilou – Breath of Sabaa. An elegant outfit for Nilou, this featherlight dress is seemingly woven of countless flowers, and with it drifts a light fragrance like the east wind at dawn, carrying beauteous blessings from a fairytale land.
- Kirara – Phantom in Boots. This swashbuckling feline of fairytale fame, the crafty courier of dearly-held dreams… is pleased to make your acquaintance!
If you do not have Kirara, do not be saddened! This kitty decided to give the Travelers a purr-fect gift, and Travelers will be able to recruit her into their team for free by drawing for a certain number of figurines, one of Simulanka’s activities.

- Bing-Bang Finchball event. While passing through Romaritime Harbor in Fontaine, you encounter a cheery researcher. At her most earnest entreaty, you begin to enjoy the relaxing tabletop game of Bing-Bang Finchball.
- Envisaged Echoes gameplay mode. In a corner of the Imaginarium Theater Lobby, vibrant colors have emerged on a once-blank canvas. When someone touches the canvas, it transports them to different domains, based upon their different experiences…
- Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Dew-Kissed Chapter. You once again encounter the illustrator Asagiri in Fontaine. She’s expanding her artistic endeavors to the Nation of Hydro.
- Energy Amplifier: Lemma. You and Paimon encounter the Akademiya researcher that brought the all-new Energy Amplifier with him to Fontaine.
