Studio Redstart Interactive announced a metroidvania with wild saurian vibes, titled Gnaw. The game promises the classic 90s feel and dynamic battles, set in the pre-apocalyptic world of dinosaurs. Gnaw comes to PC in 2026. Meanwhile, the playable demo version of the game is available on Steam.
Metroidvania Gnaw takes the players back in time, when saurian civilization was at its peak. However, something’s rotten in New Dino City. To solve the mysteries, the players take the role of Mack Ripley, a simple dino guy. He lived his life peacefully, while always dreaming of becoming someone special. And one day his wish came true. Due to some science-related encounter, Mack was transformed and gained otherworldly powers. Now, with newfound abilities, Mack has to save his kind from extinction.
The game offers to explore the heart of saurian civilization, presented in the stylish 2D graphics. The city is filled with numerous strange characters, both friendly and dangerous. The players will have to adjust their play style to the challenges each location has to offer and defeat dozens of unique foes. Moreover, each district has its own story, entwined into the deep lore of this Jurassic world.
