Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Shared Release Plans

Mount & Blade II Bannerlord Shared Release Plans

The developers from TaleWorlds Entertainment have taken to the official site to share the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord release plans with players. The game will be charging out of Early Access very soon and will receive a number of enhancements and updates on its full release date, October 25th. The pre-orders for consoles also have begun. Ready your trusty steeds and prepare weapons!

Road to release:

No lords and ladies will be left without banner any longer! In the game, the banners are equippable items that allow players and AI to use Banner Formations to their benefit in battle. The game will also receive new crafting pieces with cloth attachments that will add to the overall visual experience.

The devs have also promised that each of the 53 towns will be unique and the pool for castles, battle terrains and smaller locations like hideouts will also continue to be expanded. Of course, the world map will see further improvements as well.

“To add onto this, we are finalizing a fundamental overhaul of the agent AI movement system, which helps NPCs deal with difficult terrain (like in sieges) and notably improves issues with congestion. It does so through a range of physics adjustments, better situational understanding and manners (waiting on the allies ahead) and by shifting away from a binary, cardinal input and towards a partial, 360 degree one – think keyboard vs controller. Naturally, you, the player, will still be able to play with either.”

The team revealed that AI characters will soon receive the first iteration of voice overs for storyline dialogues and greetings as well as new and updated facial expressions.

Post-release:

  • Taking over common areas from criminals – will work similarly to other enterprises like workshops and caravans that provide players with a passive income but will also have its own twist. To be precise, players will have to wrestle with the law in the crime system.
  • Introduction of more specialized combat options such as surprise attack on besiegers in order to destroy the siege engines.
  • Range of balance changes to tip the scales in favor of siege towers and rams – pushing ladders off the walls will be possible even with units climbing them.
  • Various tweaks to other systems such as the ability to target enemy formations.
  • Game statistics!
  • And more;
